Having followed Soledad O'Brien's work over the past years, it is clear that she has found her stride with the making of the new CNN documentary, Latino In America, which debuts on Wednesday October 21st at 9pm EST.

After several years of co-hosting CNN's American Morning, the television reporter made a bold move to the network's Special Investigations Unit. Away from her anchor desk at the studio, O'Brien bloomed as she interacted directly on a regular basis with her subjects on the field. But it wasn't just the change of venue that made O'Brien a superb reporter. Rather, it was her uncanny ability to connect with people in unusual circumstances, and to put their stories into a broader context that anyone could relate to.

As a result, anyone, even the mythological middle-American viewer in Peoria, can understand what it's like to be Latino in America. That's why Latinos around the country are naturally thrilled that so many of their stories are in O'Brien's skilled hands.

In an exclusive two-part interview with My Latino Voice, the forceful-yet-sensitive reporter opens up about being Latina, exploring her heritage while filming the documentary, and learning to speak Spanish as an adult.

A special thanks to the people at CNN who made this interview possible, especially the producer of the 'Latino in America' series, the talented Rose Arce (also featured on My Latino Voice), Christine Pietz in Public Relations and of course, Soledad O'Brien, who kindly gave more time than she had to My Latino Voice and its coverage of this much anticipated story of the American Latino community.

And don't forget to buy your copy of the "Latino in America" Book.
